Well, this is odd. I just feel kind of sad. I don’t know why – maybe it’s a mixture of being tired and whatever else…
Bethany and I had a low-key day today. The highlight was the guided tour through the amazing cathedral. We also did some strolling around the plazas, oh – and picked up our official Camino certificates – which are totally awesome and absolutely frame worthy!
They are my favorite mementos. I’ll be hanging them up in my office at home.
Signing off for the evening. Buen Camino ❤️
The view from our apartment. You can see the cathedral spires in the distance. Early in the day.Getting coffee and a pastry Starting to get some foot traffic Hmmmm-octopus for lunch, anyone? The cover of our Camino passport. You are required to get a stamp or two at every town you walk through to “prove” you have walked the required distance. Most churches, cafes, and artisans had their own unique stamp; it’s fun to collect them while on the Camino. Here’s my filled-out passport. We show this at the Pilgrim Credential office and receive our official Camino certificates.Latin Certificate – even my name is in Latin. I thought it was pretty special because my confirmation Saint is Catherine of Siena.Spanish certificate. Shows names, total distance walked, starting place and date and finish place and date. ApostlesStock photo of the nave. Such intricate carvings everywhere – unable to capture even a small portion of what is there. The crypt of St James and possibly two of his disciples where it is believed to be their relics. This is directly below the main altar. The cathedral has so many areas and porticos and places to explore that I, of course, got turned around constantly. This is also a stock photo. My pictures are not very clear.
And that’s all I have for today. Good night, friends ❤️
Love the photos and descriptions of your days. Can’t wait to hear your final thoughts once the perspective of the entire trip settles in after arriving home.
